Model Slashed With Razor in Face Sues Convicted Attacker
NEW YORK — A model who was slashed in the face with a razor filed suit Friday against the man convicted in the attack, which left her disfigured.
The lawyer for Marla Hanson asked the court to proceed as if the amount were $500,000, although the lawsuit against Steven Roth did not specify damages.
Hanson, 25, also sued Steven Bowman and Darren Norman, the men Roth allegedly hired to carry out the attack, and asked the court to freeze the assets of all three.
Judge Irma Vidal Santaella signed a temporary order barring Roth, Bowman and Norman from disposing of any of their property.
The judge directed them to appear in court on Feb. 5, along with several other people associated with Roth, to argue why the assets should not remain frozen until a trial or inquest decides how much Roth should pay the model.
Hanson was attacked while walking with Roth shortly after midnight on June 5. Two men held her down and carved 15 jagged wounds into her face, which required nearly 150 stitches to close.
Roth was convicted on Dec. 20 of first-degree assault for setting up the attack. He faces up to 15 years in prison when Judge Jeffrey Atlas sentences him on Jan. 27.
