CS Long Beach Seeks Fourth Straight Win
Cal State Long Beach, which hasn’t won four straight basketball games since 1982, can do that tonight with a victory over New Mexico State.
The 49ers and Aggies will play at 7:30 in the university gym.
Long Beach, 8-8 overall, is 3-1 and in second place in the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn.
The 49ers have been winning because of their defense. Opponents are shooting only 40.8% against the 49ers. That defense has been necessary, though, since the 49ers are shooting only 39.2% themselves.
New Mexico State (8-7, 2-2) is coming off victories over University of the Pacific and Fresno State, teams that Long Beach also defeated last week.
