NEW YORK —
A nun who worked and lived at a shelter for the homeless was fatally stabbed in the neck and found dead early today. The body of Sister Virginia Thomann, 65, was found in street clothes propped up at her desk in My Brother’s Place, a halfway house in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx.
It was not known whether the sister was killed during a robbery or an argument, police said. No weapon was recovered and police ruled out the possibility of a sexual attack.
