Huntington Park’s City Council has voted to stop renting offices in the city’s police station to members of Dist. Atty. Ira Reiner’s staff since Reiner labeled the department “an embarrassment to law enforcement,” officials said. Mayor Herbert Hennes insisted that the Jan. 19 unanimous council vote to evict Reiner’s staff was not in retaliation for the assault charges Reiner filed against two former Huntington Park police officers and for opening an investigation into the Police Department.
