The indoor track and field carnival will unfold on its biggest stage tonight, the 80th Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden.

Carl Lewis will share the spotlight with 38 other Olympians and 14 world record-holders. Lewis will run the men’s 60-yard dash against Lee McRae, who has the world’s best indoor time, plus Olympic 200-meter silver medalist Kirk Baptiste, 100-meter world record-holder Calvin Smith, as well as two-time Olympian Harvey Glance and Emmit King, Floyd Heard and Mel Lattany.

As usual, the Wanamaker Mile has a packed field, led by Eamonn Coghlan of Ireland and Steve Ovett of Great Britain. For Ovett, who won the 1980 Olympic 800-meter race, it is a rare U.S. appearance. He will also run in The Times/GTE Indoor Games next month.
