Local News in Brief : Severe Wounds Blamed on Russian Roulette
An Agoura Hills man was in critical condition Friday after shooting himself in the head, apparently while playing Russian roulette, authorities said.
Marty A. Harris, 21, was drinking with several friends in his home Thursday night on Laura La Plante Drive when he picked up a .38-caliber revolver and put two bullets in it, said Los Angeles County sheriff’s Deputy Bob Nimtz.
Harris spun the chamber, lifted the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, Nimtz said. The gun discharged on the first shot.
Harris was listed in “extremely critical” condition at Westlake Community Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Homicide detectives were still investigating, Nimtz said.
