COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS : MEN’S BASKETBALL
Westmont 86, The Master’s 66--Former Moorpark College scoring star Danny Camp had 14 points and teammate Ricky Collier added 16 as Westmont beat the Mustangs (4-22, 3-10 in conference) in an NAIA District III game at Master’s.
Pete Coeler and Phil Hahn each scored 20 points for Master’s and Coeler had eight rebounds. Westmont led, 41-33, at halftime.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Cal Lutheran 69, Point Loma Nazarene 68--Brenda Lee stole the ball and drove the length of the court to score a layup with seven seconds left, lifting the Regals to a Golden State Athletic Conference win at Point Loma Nazarene on Tuesday.
Cal Lutheran (9-15, 4-2 in conference) is in second place in the GSAC.
Kim Peppi had 22 points for the Regals and Gloria Phillipps had 19. Lee finished with 11.
Shannon Anderson had a game-high 24 points for Point Loma (7-14, 0-7) and teammate Loni Williams had 11.
Azusa Pacific 76, The Master’s 48--Michelle Carter scored 14 points but Master’s (5-16, 2-11 in conference) made only 33% of its field-goal attempts (14 of 43) in an NAIA District III game.
Azusa (11-12, 7-3 in conference) was led by Amy Walter’s 20 points and nine rebounds and Sally Cohenour’s 13 points.
BASEBALL
UC San Diego 10, Master’s 4--Rick Nowack scattered three hits over seven innings and struck out six as San Diego (2-3) handed Master’s its first nonconference loss.
Former Chatsworth High standout Mark Schauer (0-1) took the loss for Master’s (2-1), which gave up seven unearned runs.
