Manhattan Beach : Name Selected for Parkway
- Share via
The City Council has selected the name Manhattan Beach Parkway for the railroad right of way that runs through the city between Valley Drive and Ardmore Avenue. The city purchased the land from the Santa Fe Railroad for use as a park.
The vote was 4 to 1, with Councilman Gil Archuletta dissenting, saying he favored the name Challenger Trail Park to honor the astronauts who died in the space shuttle disaster last year.
