U.S. Visit by German Pilots
What a farce, what a travesty, Americans pay $25 a ticket to listen to German aces relate how good they were at killing American fliers.
I hope the bones of dead fliers in Europe turn slowly in their graves upon the words of these pilots, now so chummy: “It was just a business your people and our people had to do.” What a crock. They forced us into doing it.
Only the Germans are still arrogant enough to put on a seminar about “proficiency in air killing” in the nation that helped defeat them. And only Americans are suckers enough to pay them to relate how good they were at killing.
Imagine American, British and Russian aces being invited to run such a seminar in Germany.
The British would never tolerate it, for during the filming of the Battle of Britain movie in England 15 years ago, Gen. Adolf Galland was hired as a consultant, and on Sept. 15, when the former RAF fighter pilots hold a reunion dinner, Galland was sure he was going to be invited to the dinner. The RAF pilots voted 100 to 1 against such an invitation.
