Warhol died Feb. 22 of an apparent heart attack after undergoing a gall bladder operation. No complications had been reported following surgery. Slocum said the apparently unrelated nature of the surgery and the cause of death “pricked the curiosity (of state investigators) enough to want to look into it.”
