Tower Commission Report on Iran-Contra Scandal
If, in any other organization but the government, the President and his top executives were found guilty of “colossal blunders” they would be asked to resign and quickly replaced.
Top executives in Washington are public servants and in the public trust, but apparently we do not demand integrity from those at the top, and already excuses and “plans for rebuilding” are being publicly discussed.
In my opinion, those of the military who misused public funds should be court-martialed.
Those accountable in the Iran-contra affair should leave Washington and government service. We deserve better.
