Letters : Article on Half Marathon
I have never read a more opinionated, irresponsibly written news story than that written by Jeff Meyers covering the San Fernando Valley’s first half marathon, the Boulevard Run.
At least two-thirds of the article dealt with only negative points. Only a small part of the article dealt with the positive aspects of the race. Had he bothered to check with the people th1635000432that the Boulevard Run was one of the best organized, most enjoyable races that most of the runners had run. There may have been a few traffic problems, but there are many more connected with the L.A. Marathon, the New York and Boston Marathons and most other major running events.
The newspapers covering these events do not dwell on a few traffic problems but report in an unbiased manner the quality of the race and the crowd support of the people in the area that turn out to view the race and cheer on the runners.
