GREGORY TO PERFORM AT ARTS CENTER
American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Cynthia Gregory has announced that she will bring her 10-dancer “Celebration Ballet” program to the Orange County Performing Arts Center on April 23.
Gregory’s program, part of a 32-city tour, will benefit anti-drug programs sponsored by Childrens Hospital of Orange County and the Junior League of Newport Harbor, she announced at a press conference Thursday. First Lady Nancy Reagan is the tour’s honorary chairperson.
Gregory will dance “Sentimental Reasons,” a work created for her by choreographer Michael Smuin, to tunes sung by Linda Ronstadt; “Grand Pas Classique”; the White Swan pas de deux from “Swan Lake”; the Rose Adagio from “The Sleeping Beauty,” and a pas de deux from Act II of “Giselle.” Her partners will be Clark Tippet and others to be announced.
