Garden Grove : Two Men Arrested as Suspects in Robbery
Two suspects in the armed robbery of a liquor store were arrested Monday about two hours after the holdup, police said, because a witness provided a description of an escape vehicle and its license number.
Police said two men, one of them armed with a handgun, entered McFarland’s Liquor, 11562 Garden Grove Blvd., shortly after 11 a.m. and made off with $100 in cash.
About two hours later, Garden Grove Detectives Fred Aiken and Jack Brown spotted a vehicle matching the description of one used in the robbery at Harbor Boulevard and Lampson Avenue, and arrested the two men in it.
The men, who were booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery, were identified by police as James Richard Steiner, 41, and William Leroy Hickman, 28, both of Garden Grove. They were being held Monday night on $25,000 bail each.
