Lakewood : Piercy Seated on Council
Newly elected Councilman Wayne E. Piercy took his seat on the Lakewood City Council after a brief installation ceremony at Tuesday night’s council meeting.
Piercy, 56, collected 43% of the vote to beat four other candidates in last week’s special election. He will fill the remaining year of Assemblyman Paul E. Zeltner’s four-year term. Zeltner was elected to the Assembly in November.
Piercy, principal of Poly High School in Long Beach, previously served on the Lakewood City Council from 1972 to 1976.
