The president and general manager of the United States Football League’s Arizona Outlaws is formally withdrawing from the NFL-USFL lawsuit.
Bill Tatham Jr. also said he will take appropriate steps to withdraw from the USFL.
“We’re out of it, and good riddance,” he said.
The USFL won its $1.69 billion antitrust lawsuit against the NFL last summer, but a jury awarded only $1 in damages, tripled to $3. An appeal on the damage award is scheduled to be heard either in late spring or early summer.
Tatham said he will focus his energy on bringing an NFL team to the Phoenix area.
