Sales From Doheny Library

I am appalled at the thought that the Los Angeles Archdiocese has such low regard for public treasures. I have personally seen the Doheny collection and know that the collection is priceless. The likes of which will never be seen or found again.

Just like the ancient Alexandrian Library, this, too, will be lost forever. Its purpose was never fulfilled, just as the Doheny collection’s purpose will never be fulfilled. It was unselfishly donated to the people to be used by the people. Not just for Catholics, but for everyone--for study and enjoyment.

How dare you Archbishop Mahony!
