San Diego College Baseball : Aztecs Rally in Seventh to Tie USIU, 7-7
San Diego State scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie United States International University, 7-7, Thursday in a Best in the West Tournament game at Fresno. The game was called after seven innings because of a tournament time limit of two hours and 50 minutes.
Pinch-runner Scott Middaugh scored the tying run for the Aztecs (12-11-1) on a sacrifice fly by Steve Montejano. Kevin Clancy had a two-run double for SDSU in the seventh. Harry Henderson also drove in two runs in the inning with a single.
First baseman Bob Esquerra went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI to lead USIU (12-16-1).
Point Loma Nazarene College 7, Glassboro State College 1--Curtis Burton went 2 for 3 and Randy Tippitt went 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead host Point Loma (9-11).
