U2’s lead singer Bono required stitches in his chin after taking a fall Wednesday during a night rehearsal in Phoenix, the first stop on U2’s world tour. Bono slipped while walking up a ramp and fell on a portable spotlight he was carrying. Although U2’s management called it “a small cut,” the singer was taken to the hospital by ambulance as a precaution. While in Phoenix, U2 also donated money to the Mechan Watchdog Committee, a group fighting to impeach Arizona Gov. Evan Mechan, whose recent veto of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday caused the Doobie Brothers to move their scheduled Phoenix show to Las Vegas.
