MSI Data Corp. Reports 12% Increase in ’87 Sales

Citing strong acceptance of its new products, MSI Data Corp. of Costa Mesa reported unaudited fiscal 1987 sales of $70.2 million, up 12% from the $62.5 million recorded in fiscal 1986. For its fourth quarter ended March 28, sales were a record $20.5 million, 24% higher than the $16.5 million recorded a year ago.

In an unusual move, the company did not release earnings for the quarter or the year, saying it would not divulge the figures until the audited results are available in late May. For the first nine months of the year, the company earned $680,000 on sales of $49.7 million.

Charles S. Strauch, MSI president, said the company is “very pleased with the positive shift” in its momentum in the market and noted that the renewed surge follows “a long dry spell.”
