Rancho Santiago Tops San Diego Mesa, 2-0
Rancho Santiago College defeated San Diego Mesa, 2-0, in a nonconference softball game Monday at Rancho Santiago.
The Dons (17-7), who had two hits, scored their runs in the fourth inning without a hit.
Lee Blado led off the inning with a walk and advanced to third on Trina Franklin’s sacrifice and a subsequent error. Joyce Lyman hit a fly ball that was misplayed, allowing Blado to score. After Christi Kalehuawehe sacrificed Franklin to third, Lisa Pederson’s ground ball to short scored Franklin.
