The Nation : 2nd N.Y. Bridge Collapses
A two-lane bridge closed after the collapse of a New York State Thruway bridge crumbled into the Schoharie Creek, five miles upstream from the disaster last Sunday, officials said. No vehicles were on the No Point bridge, located between the towns of Glen and Florida, and no one was injured. “It was believed it was subject to the same conditions that caused the other one to fall,” State Police trooper Brian Conway said. Meanwhile, salvage experts recovered two more victims from the thruway bridge collapse, bringing to six the number of bodies found.
