Retired Publishing Company Representative : Memorial Services to Honor Rolf Jensen
Memorial services will be conducted Friday at Laguna Beach Presbyterian Church for Rolf Levald Jensen, a retired regional sales representative for Doubleday Publishing Co. Jensen , who died Monday at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach after a short illness, was 68.
Jensen was born in Seattle and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II before graduating from Columbia University in New York City and becoming a publisher’s representative for the MacMillan Co.
He was called back into active service during the Korean War and moved to Laguna Beach after being discharged.
For 25 years, until his retirement in 1981, Jensen was the regional representative for Doubleday. He was a charter member and past president of the California Bookmen’s Assn. and a volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America.
Jensen is survived by his wife, Ouida, and sons Paul Rolf and Erik, all of Laguna Beach, and a daughter, Margaret Gangler of Seattle.
The family has suggested that contributions may be made to the American Defense Institute in Washington or the Boy Scouts.
