The Women in Film Foundation announced $130,000 in new scholarships and grants Wednesday. The money will go to women over 30 and women with children to continue their education in film making or communications, and to women film makers working on a film or television project that deals with disabilities or provides opportunities for disabled performers. Contributing to the grant fund were: “Family Ties” producer Gary David Goldberg and communications educator Diana Meehan, $100,000 over four years for women with children; TV Guide writer Wallis Annenberg, $5,000 annually to a woman over 30; and TV writer and executive Loreen Arbus, $25,000 over five years to women film makers exploring the issues of the disabled. The scholarships will be awarded to students nationwide in early June.
