Dean of Students Named at Pepperdine
J. Edward Mandrell, Pepperdine University’s assistant vice president for student affairs, has been named dean of students. He will start in the new position Monday.
Mandrell replaces Carl Mitchell, who will coordinate the university’s new international study program in Florence, Italy.
Mandrell will be responsible for the offices of campus life, career development, foreign student advising, health and counseling, housing, intramurals, special programs and the campus ministry.
He is in his third year at Pepperdine and has also served as assistant vice president for academic affairs.
Before joining Pepperdine, Mandrell coordinated international student programs at the University of Toledo and at U. S. International University in San Diego.
