Irvine : Police Seeking 2 Men in Woodbridge Holdup
Police were searching Wednesday for two men who robbed a woman at gunpoint in her Woodbridge home, then bound her and her 19-month-old son to a chair with tape.
The woman and boy were unhurt after the ordeal on Tuesday afternoon, according to investigator Larry Montgomery. She was able to break out of the tape, which was tied loosely around her, and call police, he said.
Montgomery said the woman’s troubles began after she offered to sell an $8,000 Rolex watch that she had won in a game show by placing an ad in the Recycler, a Garden Grove magazine.
When a man called about the ad, she gave him her home address. At about 2:10 p.m., two men showed up, Montgomery said. “They saw the watch, pulled a gun on her and took the watch, a TV, other miscellaneous equipment and a VCR,” he said.
Police described one of the men as black, in his mid-30s, thin, 6 feet, 2 inches tall, with black wavy hair, and said he was wearing a dark sports coat and light pants.
They said the second man, also black, is in his late 30s, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 150 pounds, with black or brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue knit short-sleeve shirt, police said.
According to one of the victim’s neighbors who watched them drive away, they escaped in a late model maroon BMW.
