Former security guard David Allen Raley, 25, was convicted of first-degree murder in the Feb. 2, 1985, death of Jeanine Grinsell and of special circumstance allegations that could qualify him for the death penalty. The Santa Clara County jury also found Raley guilty of charges involving torture and attempted murder of a second girl who survived the ordeal, Laurie McKenna, 17.
