ZURICH, Switzerland — Soviet dissident Anatoly Koryagin arrived in the West with his family today, two months after being freed from a labor camp where the psychiatrist was imprisoned after accusing his homeland of sending sane dissidents to mental institutions.
The 48-year-old Koryagin said before leaving Moscow that he felt sad about leaving his homeland but denied he was being forced to leave. “I have to leave now because of the situation and what has happened to me and my family,” he said.
