British actor Ben Kingsley, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi in the film “Gandhi,” will play Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin in an Italian television series, Italian newspapers reported Wednesday. Kingsley will star in director Damiano Damiani’s $11-million TV series “The Train,” the story of Lenin’s 1917 trip through war-torn Europe from Switzerland to Russia to lead the Bolsheviks to power. The series begins shooting in Vienna on May 7.
