OCC Crews Win 3 Championships
Orange Coast College won the junior varsity eight, freshman eight and varsity four at the Pacific Coast rowing championships Sunday on Lake Natoma at Sacramento.
In the junior varsity race, OCC defeated California by two seconds. The OCC freshmen defeated Stanford by seven-tenths of a second. UC Irvine finished third, 11 seconds behind Orange Coast. That represented the UCI freshmen’s best finish in the rowing championships and the first time they had finished ahead of Cal and Washington.
The OCC varsity four beat second-place Sacramento State by 1.5 seconds.
