Mrs. Dukakis Dropped From Panel
BOSTON — President Reagan dropped Kitty Dukakis from the Holocaust Memorial Commission, and she says it’s because her husband, Gov. Michael S. Dukakis, is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination.
“I think it was a question of my being a Democrat and my husband running for the presidency,” she said. “That sealed my fate. There’s no question it was a purely political decision.”
Reagan said Wednesday he would not reappoint Mrs. Dukakis to the 23-member commission to establish a tribute to victims of the Nazi Holocaust.
