Producer Arnold Kopelson said Sunday he would not allow “Platoon” to be released in Singapore because of cuts demanded by censors. Kopelson said in a statement the cuts would “diffuse the emotions” expressed in the film about the horror of the war. “The irony of this issue is that anyone can purchase the uncut version (in Singapore) in the form of a pirated cassette,” he added.
