A China Airlines plane bound for Taiwan was grounded before it even took off from Los Angeles International Airport, officials reported, when the plane’s left wing scraped a terminal building while on its way to a runway. Although one of the plane’s radio antennas became embedded in the building, airport and airline representatives said no severe damage occurred. “It was a minor accident,” an airport spokeswoman said. The 186 passengers on board, however, disembarked for a delay of several hours while mechanics inspected and made repairs to the aircraft.
