The president of a Santa Clara-based discount communications company and his assistant were arrested on suspicion of credit card fraud. John Vannucci, regional security manager for US Sprint on Burlingame, said investigators found more than 800 stolen US Sprint authorization codes at the offices of Lindahl Enterprises, also known as California DisCall, when the company’s president, Paul Lindahl of Sunnyvale, and his assistant, Ralph Purdy of San Jose, were arrested by investigators from the U.S. Secret Service and Santa Clara police. Michael Levin, Secret Service agent in charge of the case, said California DisCall apparently had ben operating since January, with operations in every state and about 200 customers nationwide. Purdy said he was unaware he was doing anything wrong, and Lindahl could not be reached for comment.
