Fake Bombs at Paramount High
More than 2,500 Paramount High School students got the day off today after sheriff’s deputies found four devices resembling pipe bombs scattered on the school grounds.
Explosives experts were rushed to the campus before 6 a.m. when a janitor discovered a note, taped to an administration building door, that said five explosive devices had been hidden at the school. Deputies quickly found four fake bombs--none of them containing explosives. As the search for other devices continued, school officials ordered arriving students to return home. “They have to treat it seriously,” said Sheriff’s Deputy Lynda Edmonds. “They’re really going to check the school.”
