Glam-metal chart-busting Motley Crue is being sued by a Florida woman who says her hearing was damaged at a concert. “A person has a right to expect to attend a theatrical performance and not come away injured,” said Tom Carey, an attorney for Vittoria Hohman of St. Petersburg, who is seeking at least $5,000 damages for a “severe hearing dysfunction” and mental anguish. “I’ve equated it to some people this way: If you went to a play and some guy threw a spear out into the audience,” Carey said. On Dec. 20, 1985, Hohman took her 15-year-old daughter, Kellie, to a Motley Crue concert and sat 10 feet from the stage. Carey said his client should not have moved back, but that the band and technicians should have kept the volume at a safe level. Members of the band and their management were not available for comment Thursday.
