“Wanted Dead or Alive,” the action movie starring Rutger Hauer, started slowly in the rental market, but suddenly spurted into the Top 10 of the Billboard magazine chart, jumping from No. 22 to No. 10. The Jane Fonda thriller “The Morning After” shot into the Top 10, at No. 6, in just two weeks. The other hot newcomer in the rental market is “The Mosquito Coast,” the offbeat Harrison Ford film. Though it didn’t do well at the box office, surprisingly brisk rental action has pushed it up to No. 6. “The Color of Money” is still the top rental, trailed by “Children of a Lesser God” (No. 2) and “Heartbreak Ridge” (No. 3). As usual, “Top Gun” tops the Billboard magazine sales chart. Other sales charts: “Sleeping Beauty,” the perennial best seller, heads the kidvid chart; Bon Jovi’s “Breakout” is the No. 1 music cassette (but it’s being challenged by Kiss’ new “Kiss Exposed” at No. 2); and “Golf My Way With Jack Nicklaus” leads the recreational sports chart.
