A weapon charge against Miami Dolphin linebacker Hugh Green could be expunged if the player successfully completes 18 months of probation, a prosecutor said.

“Basically, if he keeps his nose clean, the slate is wiped clean,” assistant Hillsborough state attorney Michael Benito said.

Green was arrested June 14 at Tampa International Airport by security police who said he tried to board a flight to Miami with a revolver in his briefcase. A metal detector picked up the .38-caliber handgun, according to police reports. A charge of carrying a concealed weapon resulted.
