National Video announced plans for ‘superstores.’

Ron Berger, chief executive of National Video Inc., the nation’s largest system of franchised video stores, said he is launching a campaign to develop 500 giant videocassette retail stores throughout the country. The chain, which is a leader in small- and mid-sized stores, has a 42-store franchise development agreement in Atlanta and Nashville, Tenn., a minimum of 10 (which may be raised to 50) in St. Louis and a six-store development agreement in the South Bay area near San Francisco.
