Costa Mesa Man Dies After Accident
DOUGLAS, Wyo. — The death of an elderly man from Costa Mesa, Calif., from injuries suffered in an accident on June 20 has raised Wyoming’s 1987 traffic fatality count to 51.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol said George Shull, 73, died Saturday in a Casper hospital.
Shull had been driving northbound on Interstate 25 about 13 miles south of Douglas when he lost control of his vehicle, drove into the median, swerved back onto the highway and then drove back into the median. The car rolled over, coming to rest on its top.
Lorraine Shull, 76, of Lemon Grove, Calif., was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The state’s traffic death toll stood at 77 on the same date last year.
