Aaron Emanuel will not be allowed to stand trial separately in connection with his alleged assaults on two female USC students, a judge ruled. His attorney’s motion that the trials be severed was denied during a hearing in Pasadena Municipal Court. A trial date will be set on Wednesday.

The USC tailback, suspended by the university, has pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor battery.
