With $7.5 million in box office receipts on its opening weekend, Walt Disney’s 50-year-old “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” set industry records for the highest single day and three-day gross for an animated film, breaking the record set in December by Don Bluth’s “An American Tail.” A Disney spokesman claimed more people saw the animated classic than “RoboCop,” but so many of the admissions were lower-priced tickets for children, that “RoboCop” earned $500,000 more and came in at number one.
