Helfeld Takes CRA Job in S.F.

Edward Helfeld, former administrator of the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency, has been named executive director of the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency.
The San Francisco Redevelopment Agency employs about 110 people and has an annual operating budget of about $25 million. Helfeld left the Los Angeles CRA in 1985, after a series of disputes with the organization’s commissioners, and has been teaching at USC.
