Rattle on the QE2
I can’t believe that Shirley Slater and Harry Basch didn’t mention the main problem with Queen Elizabeth 2 in their glowing article July 12. The $150-million new diesel motor is so loud and rattles the ship so much that it’s nerve-racking. The aft especially, where the pools are, shakes so bad that you can’t hold a book still enough to read and it’s too noisy to sleep. I’ve never been on a cruise where the pool areas were near-deserted on a sunny day.
