Life tragically imitated art over the weekend, when a murderer borrowed his modus operandi from a TV broadcast of Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 film “The Shining” and decapitated a Reading, Pa., man and then scrawled the word murder backward in blood near the corpse. Police said the body of Stanley Detweiler, 47, and the writing above him was discovered early Saturday by his roommate. The word--which read redrum --also was scrawled in blood in the 1980 movie “The Shining,” shown Thursday night on New York’s WPIX-TV, which is available to Reading cable-TV subscribers, police said.
