Defense Contract Helps Boost Net Income at Perceptronics

Perceptronics Inc. said its fiscal first-quarter profit more than doubled from a year earlier, thanks largely to stepped-up income from the company’s defense contract to build tank simulators.

Net income in the quarter ended June 30 jumped to $554,951, or 15 cents a share, from $251,413, or 7 cents a share, a year ago, said Perceptronics, a Woodland Hills-based maker of simulators and other training products. Revenue climbed to $15.5 million from $8.3 million.
