E. Morgan Massey, president of A.T. Massey Coal Co., has been elected to Fluor Corp.’s board of directors.
Massey, 62, has been with Irvine-based Massey Coal for 40 years and became its president in 1972. He replaces Ahmed Juffali, 62, who resigned from Fluor’s 15-member board for business and personal reasons. Juffali, a Fluor board member since 1985, is a managing director of E.A. Juffali & Brothers, a Saudi Arabia-based engineering and construction company.
Massey Coal owns the coal operations retained by Fluor after Fluor and Shell Oil agreed in June to end their joint ownership and split the giant coal mining company’s assets.
