The Nation - News from Aug. 4, 1987
Promising the winner a good seat but no money, planners of the 1988 Democratic National Convention launched a search for an upbeat logo to be used on buttons, billboards, bunting and badges. The logo will be chosen by a panel of professional designers from entries submitted by midnight Sept. 4. According to contest sponsors, entries should not only evoke Atlanta, site of the 1988 convention, but also must include the Democratic National Committee’s logo of stylized red-white-and-blue flames. Contest information is available from the Atlanta Ad Club.
