Marty Liquori, ABC sports’ track and field expert and a top U.S. miler in the 1970s, said that he believes steroid use is “epidemic in track and field.”

Liquori, speaking on “Monday SportsNite,” also said: “I doubt whether you’ll see very many athletes on our (1988) Olympic team who haven’t had some steroid use. They may have knocked it off months before the Olympic trials, but particularly in events where strength is important, I don’t think anyone will make the team without having been very involved in what the drugs do and how to beat the testing.”
