More Shootings on the Freeways

In reflecting on the freeway shootings, it seems to me that they are a microcosm of what we as a world face. We have to realize that we are all in this together and so we need to compromise and forgive the inevitable offenses that occur and stop being so self-righteous. Violence merely increases the fear and insecurity.

If we condone violence on a national level such as has been revealed in the Iran- contra hearings, I don’t suppose we should be surprised to see it on the local level. We as a nation and as individuals have to examine the principles that determine our behavior. If we decide to eliminate violence in response to problems, then our energies can be put to creative and cooperative solutions. As on the freeways, so in the world and vice versa.
